Cool Runnings first made it’s way South Bend with it’s food truck. Week after week, the team would make the drive from Michican City to serve it’s authentic Jamaican dishes in downtown Souch Bend. Long lines became a standard as the buzz grew for the Jamaican food like Jerk Chicken, Tacos, Plantains and more.
Year after year, customers would ask the owner, Jermaine Miller, when they would open a restaurant in South Bend as they were driving to Michigan City to eat at Cool Runnings. When it was finally time, Jermaine and his team looked for a space. But they didn’t want just any space it had to be the right space.
When the opportunity came to take over the historic and legendary Vegetable Buddies, they knew it was perfect.
This new space allowed Cool Runnings to once again expand their offering giving their customers a place where they could enjoy authentic Jamaican meals, be entertained by musical stage performances and get down on the dance floor.
The legacy of Vegetable Buddies lives on through Cool Runnings as they bring people together to enjoy good music in the same great atmosphere.
